LOCTITE HY4090

Main features

  • Cyanoacrylate/Epoxy Hybrid Adhesive
  • Below 180-Second Fixture Time
  • Steel/Aluminum/Polycarbonate Lap-Shear Bonding

Product Description

LOCTITE® HY 4090™ is a two-component cyanoacrylate/epoxy hybrid adhesive designed for fast fixturing and durable structural bonding of metals, plastics, and rubbers. The adhesive combines the speed of cyanoacrylate technology with the toughness and environmental resistance of epoxy systems, providing excellent gap-filling capability, moisture resistance, and temperature performance. Its thixotropic gel consistency enables reliable bonding on rough or poorly fitting surfaces while curing at room temperature.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Hybrid cyanoacrylate/epoxy adhesive technology.
  • Fast fixture time of less than 180 seconds.
  • Excellent adhesion to metals, plastics and rubber substrates.
  • Good temperature and moisture resistance.
  • Room-temperature curing system.
  • High gap-filling capability for rough and poorly fitting surfaces.
  • Suitable for demanding environmental conditions.

Recommended Applications

  • General-purpose structural bonding.
  • Metal component assembly.
  • Plastic and engineering polymer bonding.
  • Rubber-to-metal and rubber-to-plastic bonding.
  • Applications exposed to humidity and elevated temperatures.
