LOCTITE EA E-40EXP

Main features

  • Self-Leveling Horizontal Potting
  • Controlled 2:1 Metered Mixing
  • Room-Temperature Potting Cure

Product Description

LOCTITE EA E-40EXP is a two-component, self-leveling epoxy potting compound for electric motors and wire-conduit isolation. The white resin and black amine hardener mix at 2:1 by volume to form a black material that flows through horizontal cavities and cures at room temperature. Typical mixed-material values include a gel time below 45 minutes at 22 deg C and a tack-free time of 75 minutes or less. After seven days at 25 deg C, the cured epoxy reaches greater than 80 Shore D hardness and provides 38 kV/mm dielectric breakdown strength.

Key features

  • Self-leveling cavity fill: The mixed epoxy flows into horizontal voids and supports bottom-up potting.
  • Controlled 2:1 mixing: Resin and hardener use a 2:1 volume ratio for cartridge or bulk-metered dispensing.
  • Room-temperature cure: The system cures at room temperature, with heat acceleration up to 93 deg C.

Applications

Applications include potting wire conduits and electrical motor areas where a self-leveling two-component epoxy is specified.
