Loctite EA 9392 AERO Epoxy Adhesive

Main features

  • 1,000 psi Aluminum Lap Shear
  • Thixotropic Gap-Filling Control
  • 75-Minute Working Window

Product Description

LOCTITE® EA 9392 AERO Epoxy Paste Adhesive is a two-component, room-temperature-curing epoxy paste adhesive for durable bonded assemblies. The thixotropic material supports gap-filling and potting applications while remaining workable for 75 minutes at 77°F/25°C when evaluated as a 100 g mass. It develops handling strength after 24 hours at 77°F/25°C and may be fully cured at room temperature or with an accelerated thermal schedule. Testing on prepared 2024-T3 aluminum demonstrates tensile lap shear performance across temperatures from -67°F/-55°C to 350°F/177°C, with 1,000 psi/6.9 MPa retained at the upper test temperature.

Key features

  • Elevated-temperature shear performance: Retains 1,000 psi/6.9 MPa tensile lap shear strength at 350°F/177°C under ASTM D1002 test conditions.
  • Thixotropic epoxy paste: Supports gap filling and potting while limiting uncontrolled flow during application.
  • Flexible cure scheduling: Cures in 5–7 days at 77°F/25°C or in 1 hour at 180°F/82°C for small adhesive masses.

Applications / Suitable for

  • Bonded assemblies requiring room-temperature cure
  • Gap-filling adhesive applications
  • Potting applications
  • Applications evaluated for shear strength at elevated temperatures
