Product Description
LOCTITE® EA 9309.3NA AERO is a toughened, two-part epoxy paste adhesive for bonding metal skins and honeycomb core. The formulation contains 5 mil / 0.13 mm glass beads to control bondline thickness and forms tough, permanently flexible joints. It combines high shear and peel strength on aluminum with resistance to humidity, water, and common fluids. The adhesive uses a 100:22 mix ratio by weight and provides a 35-minute pot life for a 450 g mass at 77°F / 25°C. It may be cured for 3–5 days at 77°F / 25°C or for 1 hour at 180°F / 82°C to achieve normal performance.
Key features
- High shear and peel strength: Delivers strong aluminum bonding performance under the documented substrate preparation, cure, and test conditions.
- Controlled bondline thickness: Contains 5 mil / 0.13 mm glass beads to support consistent adhesive spacing.
- Environmental resistance: Cured joints resist humidity, water, and most common fluids.
Applications / Suitable for
- Bonding metal skins to honeycomb core
- Aluminum joints requiring combined shear and peel performance
