Main features
- Low-Odor Low-Blooming Bonding
- Very-Low-Viscosity Joint Wetting
- Rapid Porous-Material Fixturing
Product Description
LOCTITE 408 is a one-part, very-low-viscosity alkoxyethyl cyanoacrylate instant adhesive for rapid bonding of metals, plastics, elastomers, and absorbent materials. The transparent liquid cures with atmospheric moisture and is formulated for low odor and low blooming where vapor control is difficult. Fixture times are under 5 seconds on aluminum, neoprene, nitrile rubber, ABS, phenolic, leather, and paper at 22 deg C and 50% relative humidity, while other substrates require longer. The adhesive also bonds porous materials such as wood, paper, leather, and fabric. Its low viscosity suits thin, close-fitting joints and rapid assembly.
Key features
- Low-Odor Low-Blooming Cure: The formulation reduces odor and blooming where vapor control is difficult.
- Very-Low-Viscosity Flow: A 4 to 10 mPa s viscosity suits thin, close-fitting bondlines.
- Porous-Material Bonding: Applications include wood, paper, leather, and fabric as well as metals, plastics, and elastomers.
Applications / Suitable for
- Rapid bonding of metals, plastics, and elastomers
- Bonding wood, paper, leather, and fabric
- Low-odor, low-blooming assembly
