Main features

  • High-Strength Thread Retention
  • Self-Feeding Stick Control
  • Active and Passive Metal Cure

Product Description

LOCTITE 268 is a red, wax-consistency anaerobic threadlocker supplied in a self-feeding stick for high-strength locking of metal fasteners. The semi-solid format supports direct contact with threaded parts and controlled coverage where a liquid grade may be too fluid or difficult to apply. It cures without air between close-fitting metal surfaces and develops strength on active metals such as brass and copper as well as passive surfaces including stainless steel and plated fasteners. UV fluorescence supports application inspection. Torque values apply to degreased steel, black-oxide steel, and stainless-steel assemblies under defined cure schedules.

Key features

  • High-strength retention: The cured threadlocker is intended for fasteners requiring durable locking strength.
  • Self-feeding stick control: The wax-like semi-solid format supports direct and even application to threads.
  • Broad metal cure: The anaerobic system develops strength on active and passive metal substrates.

Applications / Suitable for

  • High-strength locking of active and passive metal fasteners
  • Stainless steel and plated threaded assemblies
  • Applications where semi-solid stick placement is preferred
