Main features
- Low-Shrinkage Thermal-Shock-Resistant Epoxy
- Three Curing-Agent Options
- Shore D 43 to 80 Hardness
Product Description
INSULGEL® 70 CC Black Epoxy Compound is a black, semi-flexible epoxy potting and encapsulation compound formulated for low shrinkage, low coefficient of thermal expansion, and thermal-shock resistance. The base resin may be combined with Part B-1, INSULCURE 9, or INSULCURE 11B to provide different pot life, cure, hardness, and service-temperature profiles. Typical base viscosity is 16,000 cP at 25°C. Depending on the curing agent, the cured system provides Shore D 43 to 80 hardness, 20% to 120% elongation, and service from -40°C to 155°C.
Key features
- Semi-flexible low-stress epoxy: The formulation is documented for reduced shrinkage and thermal-shock resistance.
- Three curing-agent options: Part B-1, INSULCURE 9, and INSULCURE 11B provide different processing windows.
- Hardener-dependent flexibility: Typical cured elongation ranges from 20% to 120%, depending on the curing agent.
Applications / Suitable for
- Thermal-shock-resistant potting
- Low-stress electrical encapsulation
- Assemblies requiring improved component adhesion
