Harmonization Code : 3214.10.00 | Putty and other mastics | Resin cements, caulking compounds and other mastics

Main features
- One-Hour Room-Temperature Handling
- Convenient 1:1 Volume Mixing
- High-Elongation Flexible Bonding
Product Description
ARALDITE 2042 A/B Adhesive is a two-part, rapid-curing polyurethane adhesive for bonding selected plastics and assemblies with dissimilar coefficients of thermal expansion. The resin and hardener mix at 80:100 by weight or 1:1 by volume to form a pink adhesive with a typical three-minute pot life at 25 deg C for a 4 fl oz batch. Typical handling strength is reached in one hour at 25 deg C, while elevated-temperature schedules shorten handling time. The cured adhesive combines 250% tensile elongation with tested lap-shear performance on aluminum and Metton specimens, supporting flexible structural bonding where joint movement and impact resistance matter.
Key features
- Rapid handling schedule: Typical handling strength develops in one hour at 25 deg C and faster with the listed heat-cure schedules.
- Convenient volume mixing: A 1:1 resin-to-hardener volume ratio supports controlled preparation.
- Flexible cured profile: Typical tensile elongation reaches 250% after the stated cure.
Applications
Bonding selected polycarbonate, ABS, nylon, and Metton substrates, plus assemblies with dissimilar coefficients of thermal expansion.
