Product Description
LOCTITE® ABLESTIK FDA 22 is a two-part, electrically insulating epoxy adhesive for medical-device bonding and coating applications. The tan, high-viscosity system mixes at 100:40 by weight and provides a typical pot life of 3 hours. It can be cured for 24 hours at 25°C or accelerated for 1 to 4 hours at 65°C. The cured material has a documented operating-temperature range of -70 to 145°C, typical volume resistivity of 1.50 × 1014 ohm-cm at 25°C, and aluminum-to-aluminum lap shear strength of 2,100 psi.
Key features
- Electrically insulating: Typical cured properties include volume resistivity of 1.50 × 1014 ohm-cm at 25°C and dielectric strength of 420 V/mil.
- High-viscosity epoxy system: Mixed viscosity of 28,000 cP at 25°C supports controlled application in bonding and coating processes.
- Room-temperature or heat cure: Guideline cure schedules include 24 hours at 25°C or 1 to 4 hours at 65°C.
