MOLYKOTE M-77

Main features

  • Up to 400 deg C Service
  • Silicone Carrier Oil
  • Selected Metal, Plastic, Rubber, and Elastomer Contacts

Product Description

MOLYKOTE® M-77 Paste is a black-gray solid-lubricant paste based on polyphenylmethyl siloxane oil, lithium soap, and molybdenum disulfide. It is intended for low-speed lubrication points operating under low to moderate loads, including applications exposed to water and extreme temperatures. The paste provides lubrication from −45°C to 230°C. Above 230°C, the silicone carrier volatilizes and the remaining dry lubricating film supports operation up to 400°C. The mineral-oil-free formulation is also suitable for selected elastomer and plastic components, subject to compatibility testing.

Key features

  • Wide temperature capability: Provides paste lubrication from −45°C to 230°C and dry-film lubrication up to 400°C.
  • Silicone carrier oil: Suitable for selected materials that are not resistant to mineral oils.
  • Solid-lubricant protection: Contains molybdenum disulfide to maintain lubrication after the carrier volatilizes.
  • Water resistance: Supports lubrication points exposed to water and moisture.
  • Low-speed performance: Formulated for low-speed contacts under low to moderate loads.
  • Flexible application: Can be applied by brush, spatula, grease gun, automatic lubricator, or compatible central lubrication system.

Applications / Suitable for

  • Metal-to-metal friction and contact surfaces
  • Plain bearings, bushings, and sleeves
  • Slides, guides, and tracks
  • Selected plastic, rubber, and elastomer components
  • Brake anchor plates and disc-brake pistons
  • Low-speed lubrication points exposed to water or extreme temperatures
