Main features
- Mineral-Oil Solid-Lubricant Assembly Paste
- 0.08 Press-Fit Friction Coefficient
- 2,800 N Four-Ball Weld Load
Product Description
MOLYKOTE® G-N Plus Paste is a black mineral-oil solid-lubricant paste for assembly, press fitting, running-in, and low-motion lubrication of metal components. The supplier reports an ISO 2137 unworked penetration of 280–310 mm/10, a 2,800 N four-ball weld load, an Almen-Wieland OK load above 20,000 N, and a press-fit coefficient of friction of 0.08 with no chatter. Solid-lubricant temperature guidance extends from -25°C to 450°C and up to 630°C with reduced air access; these limits do not imply unchanged carrier or paste properties throughout the range. Apply a thin layer to clean contact surfaces, rub it into the metal to improve adhesion, and do not mix it with greases or oils.
Key features
- High-load bench performance: DIN 51350 four-ball weld load of 2,800 N and Almen-Wieland OK load above 20,000 N.
- Controlled friction: Press-fit coefficient of friction of 0.08 with no chatter; screw-test values of 0.12 at the thread and 0.06 under the head.
- Solid-lubricant temperature guidance: -25°C to 450°C, or up to 630°C with reduced air access, based on the temperature resistance of the solid lubricants.
- Wear and water-resistance data: 0.75 mm wear scar under an 800 N four-ball load and DIN 51807 static water-resistance rating of 2-90.
- High surface coverage: Supplier-stated covering capacity of 40 m²/kg when applied as a controlled thin film.
- Fluorinated-material statement: Formulated with no intentional PTFE or other PFAS.

Additional Information
MOLYKOTE® G-N Plus Paste
A black mineral-oil paste containing solid lubricants and a thickener for assembly, press fitting, running-in, and low-motion lubrication of metallic components. Its product-specific load and friction data support evaluation where high contact pressure, controlled assembly friction, stick-slip avoidance, fretting protection, and later dismantling are important.
MOLYKOTE® G-N Plus Paste is a black solid-lubricant paste for assembly and running-in of metal components.

The temperature figures describe the resistance of the solid lubricants and do not establish unchanged carrier-oil, consistency, friction, wear, or service-life performance across the full range. Bench results remain specific to their methods and conditions.
Apply a controlled film to clean metal surfaces
Prepare the contact area before applying the paste. The supplier recommends a thin, worked-in film rather than the larger quantities associated with conventional grease lubrication.
Use a thin, uniform film and work the paste into the cleaned metal surface rather than applying it as a bulk grease fill.
Store between 0°C and 40°C in the original unopened container. Usable life is 60 months from the date of production. Review the current safety data and container label before handling; use local exhaust ventilation and appropriate protective gloves and eye/face protection. The current SDS states that heating above 150°C in air can form formaldehyde vapors, so applicable ventilation and exposure controls are required.
Assembly, running-in, and low-motion applications
The documented application scope covers metallic contacts where assembly friction, high contact pressure, intermittent movement, running-in behavior, fretting risk, or later dismantling are important. Final suitability depends on the material pair, geometry, surface condition, load, temperature, atmosphere, and applied film quantity.
