Product Description
MOLYKOTE® E Paste is a light-yellow synthetic hydrocarbon lubricating paste with specially formulated solid lubricants for metal/metal, metal/plastic, and plastic/plastic contacts in electromechanical assemblies. It has a documented useful temperature range of -50°C to 150°C and is intended for sliding surfaces, threaded connections, gears, bearings, and oscillating mechanisms such as automotive sunroofs. Typical test data include a 560 kg four-ball OK load, a 0.50 mm wear scar under the stated four-ball conditions, more than 20,000 LFW-1 oscillating cycles, and a coefficient of friction of 0.08 after 6,000 cycles. Apply to solvent-cleaned surfaces by brush, burnishing, grease gun, or automated dispensing, and verify compatibility with the exact plastic grade and service conditions.
Key features
- Wide documented temperature range: Useful from -50°C to 150°C, with static and kinetic torque data measured at -40°C.
- Load and wear test data: Four-ball OK load of 560 kg and 0.50 mm wear scar at 1,740 rpm, 40 kg, and 1 hour.
- Oscillating-contact performance: More than 20,000 cycles in the stated LFW-1 test and a coefficient of friction of 0.08 after 6,000 cycles.
- Documented plastic test results: No cracking or color change for ABS, polycarbonate, nylon, and polyacetal after 500 hours at 60°C under bending stress.
- Low measured retention losses: 1.0% bleed and 0.2% evaporation after 24 hours at 100°C.
- Flexible application: Brush, burnishing, grease-gun, or automated dispensing methods.

Additional Information
MOLYKOTE® E Paste
A light-yellow, heavy-duty paste with a synthetic hydrocarbon carrier and solid lubricants for metal/metal, metal/plastic, and plastic/plastic contacts. It is designed for electromechanical sliding, threaded, gear, bearing, and oscillating interfaces where load carrying, wear control, broad temperature capability, and verified compatibility with selected plastics are important evaluation factors.
MOLYKOTE® E Paste is a light-yellow synthetic hydrocarbon paste for lubricating mixed-material electromechanical contacts.

These results describe the stated laboratory methods and conditions. Compare products only when test geometry, load, speed, temperature, duration, and endpoint are equivalent.
Plastic compatibility evidence
The supplied TDS reports no cracking or color change for four plastic families in a bending-stress test after 500 hours at 60°C. The results support initial material screening but do not establish universal compatibility across all grades, additives, molded-in stress, aging states, temperatures, or lubricant combinations.
| Tested material | Reported result | Test condition |
|---|---|---|
| ABS resin | No crack; no color change | Bending-stress test after 500 hours at 60°C |
| Polycarbonate | No crack; no color change | Bending-stress test after 500 hours at 60°C |
| Nylon | No crack; no color change | Bending-stress test after 500 hours at 60°C |
| Polyacetal | No crack; no color change | Bending-stress test after 500 hours at 60°C |
Prepare a clean interface and apply by the required method
Application starts with solvent cleaning of the contact surface. Select brush, burnishing, grease-gun, or automated dispensing according to the mechanism and production process, then control distribution at the actual sliding, threaded, gear, or bearing interface.
Review the current safety data and container label before handling. Use appropriate ventilation, avoid prolonged or repeated skin contact, and keep the product away from strong oxidizing agents. The supplied TDS directs users to the current Sales Specification for shelf-life information; confirm the applicable storage and shelf-life requirements before use.
Electromechanical lubrication applications
