LOCTITE LB8040

Main features

  • -43 deg C Freeze-and-Release Cooling
  • Fast Penetrating Lubricant
  • Corrosion-Protective Residual Film

Product Description

LOCTITE® LB 8040™ Freeze & Release is a special mineral oil-based rust treatment and releasing lubricant designed to free seized, rusted, and corroded metal components. Its unique shock-freezing technology cools parts to approximately -43°C, creating microscopic cracks in rust layers that allow the lubricant to penetrate rapidly by capillary action. After release, the treated parts remain lubricated and protected against further corrosion.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Shock-freezing action cools components to -43°C.
  • Breaks rust bonds through microscopic cracking.
  • Fast penetrating mineral oil lubricant.
  • Frees rusted, corroded and seized metal parts.
  • Provides ongoing lubrication after release.
  • Leaves corrosion-protective film.
  • Convenient aerosol spray application.

Recommended Applications

  • Rusted nuts and bolts.
  • Corroded threaded fasteners.
  • Seized shafts and metal assemblies.
  • Industrial maintenance and repair operations.
  • General rust-release treatment for metal components.
