LOCTITE HY4080

Main features

  • Equal-Volume Hybrid Mixing
  • 10-Minute Fixture on Metals
  • Tough Peel and Impact Performance

Product Description

LOCTITE HY 4080 is a two-component cyanoacrylate/acrylic hybrid structural adhesive for metals, composites and plastics. Clear-to-slightly-hazy Part A and white-to-off-white Part B mix at 1:1 by volume to form an opaque, slightly yellow adhesive. The high, thixotropic formulation has a 10 minute open time at 25 deg C and typically fixtures in 10 minutes on 0.05 mm gaps in grit-blasted mild steel or aluminum. After one week at 22 deg C, the cured adhesive reaches Shore D 72 hardness and 80% elongation at break, with peel, impact and lap-shear performance on specified substrates.

Key features

  • 1:1 cartridge mixing: Equal-volume components support dispensing through a supplied mixer head.
  • 10-minute fixture time: The adhesive typically fixtures in 10 minutes on 0.05 mm steel or aluminum gaps.
  • Tough cured response: The cured hybrid provides peel, impact and shear performance on the stated substrates.

Applications

Applications include structural bonding of metals, composites and plastics where a high-viscosity hybrid adhesive is specified.
