  • Five-Hour Working Window
  • UV Light Bonding Cure

Product Description

DOWSIL™ EA-6052 Fast Low-Temp Cure Adhesive Kit is a black, flowable, two-part addition-cure silicone adhesive mixed 1:1 by weight or volume. Its temperature-controlled heat cure gives manufacturers a choice of 60 minutes at 90°C, 30 minutes at 125°C, or 10 minutes at 150°C, while a typical five-hour working time at 25°C supports dispensing and assembly operations. The mixed material can flow, fill, or self-level after dispensing and includes a UV indicator for inspection. Typical cured performance includes 4.7 MPa tensile strength, 170% elongation, Shore A 48 hardness, and 4.9 MPa unprimed lap shear to aluminum. Applications include sealing lids and housings, attaching baseplates, gasketing, and connector sealing.

Key features

  • Temperature-controlled cure: Typical heat-cure schedules are 60 minutes at 90°C, 30 minutes at 125°C, or 10 minutes at 150°C.
  • Two-part 1:1 system: Parts A and B are mixed 1:1 by weight or volume, with a typical five-hour working time at 25°C.
  • Flowable dispensing: The mixed adhesive can flow, fill, or self-level and may be applied by manual or automated needle dispense.
  • UV inspection indicator: Supports visual inspection after dispensing.
  • Cured mechanical profile: Typical values include 4.7 MPa tensile strength, 170% elongation, Shore A 48 hardness, and 4.9 MPa lap shear to aluminum.

Mixing, dispensing and cure

This two-part system requires uniform component preparation, controlled 1:1 mixing and a heat-cure schedule selected for the assembly process. Surface cleanliness, cure compatibility and air management should be verified before production.

Mixing ratio: 1:1 by weight or volume; mix Parts A and B separately before combining.
Working time: Typical 5 hours at 25°C after mixing.
Cure schedule: 60 minutes at 90°C; 30 minutes at 125°C; or 10 minutes at 150°C.

Application sequence

Stage 1
Prepare surfaces and verify compatibility
Clean and degrease the bonding surfaces, and use light abrasion where practical. Acetone or isopropyl alcohol can serve as a final wipe but should not be relied on alone to remove oils. Test adhesion and cure compatibility on the actual materials; organotin catalysts, sulfur-containing materials, unsaturated hydrocarbon plasticizers and some solder-flux residues can inhibit addition cure.
Stage 2
Prepare and mix the components
Mix Parts A and B separately to redistribute filler, then combine them 1:1 by weight or volume until the blend is uniform. Light-colored streaks or marbling indicate inadequate mixing. For air-sensitive assemblies, de-air at 28–30 in Hg vacuum; automated mix-and-dispense equipment is recommended for fast-cure processing.
Stage 3
Dispense, assemble and heat cure
Dispense manually or automatically through a needle, assemble the parts, and heat cure for 60 minutes at 90°C, 30 minutes at 125°C, or 10 minutes at 150°C. Increasing cure temperature and/or cure time can improve ultimate adhesion.
Storage and handling

Store at 25°C and use before the date shown on the product label. Typical shelf life is 12 months at 25°C. Review the current Safety Data Sheet and container label before handling.
