Application and cure

DOWSIL™ 733 is supplied ready to use and extrudes directly from its container. Apply it to properly prepared surfaces in a uniform thickness, complete tooling before the tack-free skin forms and allow the assembly to remain undisturbed at room temperature during cure.

Surface preparation: Thoroughly clean and degrease applicable metal and plastic surfaces with a suitable solvent. Roughen rubber surfaces with sandpaper, then wipe with acetone.
Application and tooling: Force the sealant into the joint or seam to obtain full surface contact. Tool within approximately 5 to 10 minutes and remove masking tape before a tack-free skin forms.
Cure conditions: A tack-free skin forms in approximately 10 to 15 minutes at 25°C and 50% relative humidity. Sections up to 3.18 mm thick become rubbery solids in about 24 hours under these conditions.

Apply a uniform bead to properly prepared surfaces and complete tooling before skin formation.

Storage and handling

Store the product in its original unopened container at or below 32°C. Cure progresses inward from surfaces exposed to atmospheric moisture. Lower humidity, greater section thickness and confinement extend cure time; complete cure may not occur under absolute confinement. Follow the applicable solvent label and current safety documentation when preparing surfaces and handling the product.
