Main features
- Fast Room-Temperature Encapsulation Cure
- Low-Viscosity Dispensing Control
- Electrically Insulating Encapsulation
Product Description
DOWSIL™ 3-4680 Silicone Gel Kit is a two-part, addition-cure silicone dielectric gel supplied in a 1:1 mix ratio. The transparent blue, low-viscosity material cures rapidly at room temperature to form a soft gel for sealing, encapsulating, and potting electronic devices. Its short working time and room-temperature cure support applications requiring rapid processing, while heat can be used to further accelerate cure. After processing, the gel combines high volume resistivity and dielectric strength with the soft, resilient characteristics associated with silicone gel protection.
Key features
- Fast room-temperature cure: Reaches 90% of final properties in approximately 15 minutes at room temperature.
- Low-viscosity processing: Typical viscosity of 275 mPa·s supports dispensing and filling before gelation.
- Dielectric performance: Typical dielectric strength of 400 V/mil (16 kV/mm) and volume resistivity of 3.60 × 1015 ohm-cm after cure.
Applications / Suitable for
- Sealing electronic devices
- Electronic encapsulation and potting
- Protection of delicate electronic components
- Applications requiring cushioning against mechanical shock and vibration
