Product Description

AXAREL™ 1000 Solvent Cleaner is an approved MIL-PRF-680 Type I cleaner for precision cleaning and degreasing. It is suitable for replacing isopropyl alcohol, acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, mineral spirits, P-D-680 solvents, and other low-flash-point flammable solvents in supported applications. The cleaner is designed for hand wiping, immersion cleaning, and airless vacuum hydrocarbon equipment, removing greases, mineral and synthetic oils, coolants, rust inhibitors, fingerprint oils, dust, and particulate matter while leaving very low surface residues. AXAREL™ 1000 is compatible with many polymeric substrates and elastomers and is safe for use with ferrous and non-ferrous alloys.

Key features

  • MIL-PRF-680 Type I approved solvent cleaner.
  • Low vapor pressure of 0.78 mmHg at 20°C.
  • Low surface residue with 60 ppm non-volatile residue.
  • Good solvency for oils, greases, coolants, rust inhibitors, and particulate soils.
  • Multiple process options including manual wiping, immersion, and airless vacuum cleaning.
  • Broad material compatibility with many polymers, elastomers, and ferrous and non-ferrous alloys.

Applications / Suitable for

  • Manual cleaning and degreasing by brush, pad, or cloth.

Processing

Cleaning process

AXAREL™ 1000 is used at full concentration. Select the cleaning method based on the part geometry, soil load, substrate, process equipment, and required cleanliness.

Manual cleaning: Apply at full concentration to the desired substrate using a brush, pad, or cloth.
Immersion cleaning: Add at full concentration to the wash-tank reservoir. The use of ultrasonics or heat is not recommended.
Vacuum equipment: Add at full concentration to the wash chamber of compatible airless vacuum hydrocarbon equipment.
Material evaluation: The cleaner is compatible with many polymeric substrates and elastomers and is suitable for ferrous and non-ferrous alloys, but end-use compatibility should be confirmed for the exact material and process.
