  • 0.01 ohm-cm Conductive Bonding
  • Aircraft Static-Discharger Bonding
  • Room-Temperature or Heat Cure

Product Description

LOCTITE® ABLESTIK KS 4008 is a two-component, silver-filled epoxy adhesive developed for bonding static dischargers to aircraft. The electrically conductive system combines a cured volume resistivity of 0.01 ohm-cm with aluminum-to-aluminum tensile lap shear strength of 10.3 N/mm² after curing for 2 hours at 60°C. It mixes at 100:6 by weight and provides a 60-minute working time for a 28 g mixed mass at 25°C. Room-temperature and heat-cure schedules are available, with a documented operating-temperature range of -55 to 125°C.

Key features

  • Electrically conductive formulation: Silver-filled epoxy provides a typical cured volume resistivity of 0.01 ohm-cm.
  • Documented bonding performance: Aluminum-to-aluminum tensile lap shear strength reaches 10.3 N/mm² after curing for 2 hours at 60°C.
  • Room-temperature or heat cure: Guideline cure schedules include 24 hours at 25°C or 2 hours at 60°C.

Applications / Suitable for

  • Bonding static dischargers to aircraft
  • Aircraft assemblies requiring protection against electrostatic discharge
  • Electrically conductive adhesive assembly
